(Jewish) New Year

the_ragnarokIt's been a pretty good year.
I have a cub on the way now (21st week/5th month, booya!), I'm officially an owner of real estate, and I have a new full-time job, the first one since I left the army - the first real one, one might say. And if it weren't for combinatorics (bleh) I would have finished my degree, too. No matter - I'll take a course this next semester and take the exam during my maternity leave.
Guys, I am so freaking happy.
My new apartment is beautiful. Much as the commute and hours tire me, I love my new job - it's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. And I've wanted a cub for so, so long, knowing I'll have one of my own come January is amazing. Every time I see ultrasound pics, every time I feel her kick, I'm just so joyful for this. Grateful that I can have all this in my life.
And now fall is starting - it's mid-morning and the sky is still solid grey outside my window, an enormous relief after the blaring hot blue of summer. It's always an energizing time for me, the onset of winter, with cooler weather and my birthday coming up. I have so much work to do, work I CAN do, and the knowledge is exhilarating.
My creative stats have been low ever since pregnancy started, but I'm slowly starting to write again, and hopefully I'll have more time/energy on my mat leave as well. I'm going to do a lecture in a con during Sukkot about gender-subversive tropes in fic, so that's going to be fun. :D
I hope you guys all have a fantastic following 12 months, and beyond that too. שנה טובה!
