There is not enough capslock flaily glee in the WORLD to properly show you how much I love your brain so I'm not even gonna attempt it because to do so would undoubtedly only serve to embarrass us both! Arthur not understanding how those drawings are intensely personal to Eames makes my heart break for him. That he honestly has nothing laying around the apartment that he wants to keep to himself? That seems so sad...he needs private things that he chooses to share with people, not just assume that they'll find out about it anyway so why bother hiding anything. *pets his fucked-upedness*
I love that he based Alex's movements on Arthur, he really missed his man (and let's face it, if you have access to Arthur's movements, then it'd be foolish not to study and put them to artistic use). Their fight was so adorable, I love how Eames loses himself in the forge and becomes her, I love his whole process and that he needs to clear the air before he can get down to business.
Oh Arthur! &hearts! It's a little strange and wonderful to have Arthur being the one who looks at sex in a more conventional way (despite his personal experiences). That he knows Eames doesn't enjoy sex or seduction and so he doesn't want Eames to have to seduce or have sex with anyone. And there's this beautifully tragic gap between them because Eames doesn't see it as something he "has" to do, it's a part of the job, one he knew about going in and since he doesn't find it particularly objectionable he doesn't see why it doesn't matter that he gets no pleasure from it.
"Eames doesn't entirely understand Arthur's unwavering insistence on monogamy, but it seems to be important to him, so Eames plays along."
And now it's Eames' turn to break my heart, thank you for keeping them neck 'n neck on that account. I understand why Eames feels this way, sex isn't important to him, if he caught Arthur snuggling with someone else he might feel differently, but sex holds no appeal so it doesn't matter, but it still makes me so sad for him.
I'm glad you're keeping such a realistic progression of their relationship, they really have so very many issues to sort through and it'd be ridiculous to think that love and a mutual desire to cuddle would change that. Of course the inner sap in me just wants them to frolic in a field with puppies and have all the bad things in their world be solved with tickle fights, but I realize this is very much never going to happen...unless you do a lot of drugs or something.
I love that this fundamental inability to understand each other sexually leads to misunderstandings and projections gone amuck (and Venn diagrams, holy fuck you're amazing!). However I do think this is one situation where the vastness and complexities of the dream world is making things far more difficult than they need to be. Eames, honey...I have one word for you: dildos! They're truly fantastic inventions and the only drawback is your arm might get tired, so save it for special occasions, okay bb? Arthur, I'd smack you for not thinking of this since you've probably actually used one before (or had a partner who wanted to use them), but you're too damn adorable and you explain yourself through Venn diagrams so I can't be mad at you.
