AKA, original fic I want to start writing when I have time (IE, hopefully, when semester ends).

Really want to write:

1. Bomb Scare: In which Miri Goldberg is the world's most badass mom and an embassy's head of security, her son persists in getting himself into trouble and both of them have a weakness for reformed
(or not-so-reformed) rogues.

2. Signal to Noise: Hester Benjamin was in the middle of her master's degree in electrical engineering when her best friend more or less abducted her to be his soundwoman. She loves his art, and she's pretty happy, until the day when - in a moment of weakness - she gives a groupie her backstage pass.
The groupie - a pretty, pretty young man by the name of Evan - ends up stealing their drummer and becoming their main rival in musicianship. Which would have been bad enough if Hester hadn't fallen for him, of all the inconvenient things.

3. The Corporate Heart - Stuart's friends used to tell him he has a one-track mind. No, not like that, he just doesn't multitask very well. He's happiest when he can give everything he has to a single purpose. Which makes him the worst workaholic ever, and also kind of intense when he's subbing. When his Dom and his not-really-boss end up being the same person, it... gets complicated. (Yeah, I totally owe [personal profile] solvent a fruitbasket for this one. And [livejournal.com profile] gyzym, too, in a way.)

Would be fun:

2 fairy-tale/fantasy lite kind of stories:
Penny My Porcupine: In which the hero goes on a Quest to Find True Love. Except he's a second son, and Quests... don't work very well for them. Lucky for him, he's a very good magician, and also has a (sometimes) helpful porcupine companion.

(No title yet): In which the hero needs to kill a monster... With the minor snag that all monsters, these days, come with either half a kingdom (who wants that responsibility?) or a princess (um, he's sort of In a Relationship already). He ends up teaming up with a con artist to convince the terrifying duke (and his even more terrifying daughter) to let them help with his dragon problem.

Give an Astrophysicist a Cookie (working title): Galia is an integrator, a woman whose job description is basically to watch the futuristic equivalent of TED lectures and spam her friends (who are all highly specialized academics) about it. Karrar is a disseminator: his job is basically to give futuristic TED lectures. They fall in love.
Problem is, Galia is human and Karrar is nel'Thack. Their very biology is highly incompatible. But they're not going to let that get in the way of True Love - especially not since they're friends with all the best and brightest of all the allied races...
