Boring RL Update, also HP7.2

Weekend was pretty awesome.

- Had my last exam on Friday - algebra, which went amazingly. Thanks go to my study buddy, who is excellent in many ways.

- Went to Tel Aviv for filksing on Friday night. Also awesome, saw a bunch of people I haven't seen in ages. Also got me thinking about parallels between my situation with the filk community and the fic community, which I may post about later under the CRAI MOAR filter. But altogether pretty awesome.

- Today, went to see HP7.2 with my darling, my mother, my brother and his wife. Lovely company, movie was cute even though I remembered NOTHING from the book. Conclusions:

* Needs Moar Neville. Amounts of Luna were satisfying, but just barely.
* The lack of focus on Harry/Ginny, both during the movie and the Epilgue, did it only good.
* I cried a little when Fred died, not least because of that interview with George's actor about his reaction in the scene. HIS BROTHER IS DEAD.
* McGonnagle/Molly Weasley. IT'S IN MY BRAIN NOW AND WILL NEVER GO AWAY. At least as a friendship thing.
* At one point my darling and I turned towards each other and simultaneously said, "Be vewy vewy quiet, we're hunting horcwuxes!" Either deranged minds think alike, or it was REALLY THAT OBVIOUS.
* That said, there is actually a word for an object containing a piece of someone's soul: Phylactery. Shame Rowling didn't play more D&D.
* Am I the only one who thought, "Hey, it's Dumbledore the White!" during Harry's near-death experience?
* About that bit - I missed the mention of Voldemort having a chance of redemption and not taking it. It's one thing I did remember because it struck a chord in me.
* But mostly, it got me craving something like the Hermione Granger series so bad. SO BAD. I love subversions, okay, IF SOMEONE DOESN'T WRITE YA FANTASY LIKE THAT I WILL. (for serious, I have one planned. It will probably suck, but I DON'T CARE STILL WANT TO WRITE IT.)

- Got back to BS and went straight to the housing protest. THE PPL WANT SOCIAL JUSTICE. So that was pretty win. (ETA: Also check out [personal profile] roga's picspam of the protest in Tel Aviv. The Beer Sheva demonstration is kinda small fry by comparison, but hey, at least we're moving, right?)

Now I am home and tests are done, I'm going to start working full-time until next semester starts - then hopefully my darling will get a Real Job so I can quit mine and go to being a full-time student.

I'm very conflicted about writing right now. Have a whole bunch of ideas, but uncertain where to start from. Probably I should finish my WIPs first, except that I'm kind of scared of going back to them because IT'S BEEN SO LONG. May write more about that later. BUT I AM OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS. SUGGESTIONS HELP.

My suggestion is WRITE WHATEVER YOU WANT and don't put pressure on yourself about finishing or continuing things that stress you out. whatever the reasons are, it's better to nurse your creative feelings by DOING STUFF, even if it means you never finish project X or Y or Z.

Or did you mean fic suggestions as in ideas and bunnies? you just posted many bunnies I am OPEN TO READING. The non-monogamous bunny please? *g*

You are not the only one who thought about Dumbledore the White. <3

Where is the interview of George? WANT.

YAY for finishing exams! That's always a glorious day.

I may be one of the few people in the world who never read Harry Potter even when my little sister was all fangirling about it for some years, and now I have stumbled upon some fic. And reading through some rec list now. *facepalm*
I blame it on me being procrastinating for some days rn. It's a well-known symptom for me.
I enjoy immensely reading about the HP7.2 experiences people nowadays have as I ccould relate how it would be, I think, to have this huge saga finally seen to an end. it's delightful but at the same time so sad. I just get reminded of all these books a got so invested in my teens..

I would love if there would be another installment in your threesome'verse, especially when the evolving Arthur&Eames interactions would be in focus. Especially in bed! I love the trope of forced bisexuality and discovering they (Arthur) like it (but only with Eames!).
I keep thinking about these three.

I am glad to hear that!
But just keep on what you're currently in the writing mood for; no pressure from here. I am glad for every fic there is!

Congratulations on test goodness!

I would read the hell out of your take on Hermione Granger, The Series. We were watching DH part 1 on DVD and decided that Hermione at least got to be Sam.

Sam from the Lord of the Rings. Frodo wouldn't have got far without his Sam.

Yay for finishing tests!

My writing advice is advice I have never succeeded in following, so please feel free to ignore it, but: maybe if you don't want to start in on the WIPs right away, you could knock out a few short ficlets as warm-up? I always try this and end up spawning more WIPs, but it could be that playing around with something new - keeping it small and finish-able will get your creative brain ticking again.
